Keynote Conversation: Resilience

In partnership with the Clements Center for Southwest Studies

Festival welcome by the Dean of SMU’s Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences, Thomas DiPiero.

Writers' words should speak loudly and readers should heal, gain knowledge, stay resilient, escape within the pages of a book, and come together to celebrate the literary arts. David Treuer, author of The Heartbeat of Wounded Knee and DaMaris B. Hill, author of Breath Better Spent: Living Black Girlhood, opened the first in-person revival of the Dallas Literary Festival, presented by SMU. Moderated by Joshua Arce, J.D., C.E.O and President of Partnership with Native Americans (PWNA). With introductions made by Dallas based athlete and artist, Ra Kazadi, who designed the festival’s artwork, and the festival’s Assistant Director, Katherine Delony.

Location: SMU McCord Auditorium (Dallas Hall 306)
